Export guide — Swann
Pull a day of footage off your Swann recorder
Swann recorders vary a little by generation, but the export path is always inside the main menu. You'll need a USB stick (32 GB or larger). When you're done, head back to the upload steps.

Plug your USB stick into the recorder
Use a spare USB port on the DVR/NVR box.

Open the backup menu
Right-click with the recorder's mouse → Main Menu → Backup (older models: Archive). Log in with your usual PIN.

Choose camera, day, and hours
Pick the channel covering your main sales floor, then set the date and your open-to-close hours.

Export as MP4
Choose MP4 (or AVI) as the file type, select the USB stick, and press Start/Backup. Leave it running — a full day takes a while.
Got .264 or .avi files? Send them as-is — we handle every format Swann produces.
Using a computer instead? The Swann Security desktop app (or HomeSafe View on older models) can download too: Playback → select camera & time → Download.
